Weddings In Muskoka is located in the beautiful region of Muskoka, Ontario. Our mission is to create a personalized wedding ceremony that honours the spirituality of the bride, groom, and your wedding guests. Our wedding ceremonies are designed and conducted in consultation with you, the couple.
It is your wedding ceremony before your family and friends, and the sacred one of your understanding. We will help you design it as a wedding ceremony to treasure, that touches your heart with years of memories, and celebrates the power of love in covenant and commitment.
Reverend John Larsen has been a resident of Bracebridge for over 20 years. He and his wife are the founders of the Muskoka Spiritualist Church, where he is Pastor. John is a very spiritual, warm and caring person, and is very active in community service, including being past president of both the Orillia and Bracebridge Lions Club. He has conducted a variety of ceremonies over the years.

Our mission is to create a personalized wedding ceremony that honours the spirituality of the bride, groom, and wedding guests as well as the varied faith traditions of the participants. It could be celebrate in any place, when blessed with meaning and purpose, can be a sacred setting. By trees, rocks and water, near a river or lake. In a house or yard, or on a boat. At a hotel or resort. Or more traditionally, in a chapel or church. It could be as formal or informal as you wish. Your vows, your beliefs, your day.

You may have a strong religious connection or may have none at all. Perhaps you have been turned off by organized religion and want to focus on love rather than dogma. Perhaps yours is more of a nature-respecting and creation-honouring spirituality that sees truth and wisdom in all traditions of reverence and respect. Perhaps you want to elope and come to our home. Wedding officiant Reverend John Larsen will help you customize your Muskoka wedding ceremony, encompassing both the style and setting of your choice.
THE MARRIAGE BOX
Most people get married believing a myth that marriage is a beautiful box full of all the things they longed for:
companionship, intimacy, friendship.
The truth is that marriage at the start is an empty box. You must put something in before you take anything out. There is no love in marriage. Love is in people. And people put love in marriage. There is no romance in marriage. You have to infuse it into marriage. A couple must learn the art and form the habit of giving, loving, serving, praising,
keeping the box full.
As part of the ceremony, the couple has captured their thoughts and feelings leading up to this day in love letters to each other. The couple will place their letters to each other inside the box. These notes will be shared by the couple on their
5th Anniversary.
On that joyous day, they will get to reflect on the events and emotions they shared on their wedding day. A chance to reminisce about all the memories they will have made over the last five years, and dream of all those yet to come.
OUR PROMISE…
So much time and preparation goes into making a wedding celebration a special occasion, and yet it seems to pass in the blink of an eye. So too did our time together. I apologize for not spending more time with you—I seemed overwhelmed by emotion and heat. Please know that Paul and I regard our service with great fondness and remain truly grateful for you providing us with a ceremony we will cherish forever.
